Great article. I too am a rookie entrepreneur and through my various business ventures, I have learned so much. I can relate with the article in so many ways. You mentioned self doubt creeping in. I would also like to add that doubt will also come from friends and family. Don't be discouraged. These people could just be jealous. Keep trying and remember...You don't need many good ideas, just one great one. Many entrepreneurs failed several times, before making it big (Colonial Sanders of KFC, Conrad Hilton of Hilton hotels to name a few). This is just one example of the many lessons I learned from my business venture.

As a matter of fact, I wrote a book titled: "Business Lessons of a Rookie Entrepreneur" describing my experiences. Please check the book out by searching the title: Business Lessons of a Rookie Entrepreneur on Youtube (also can search my name). It teaches the lessons I learned while starting and running my own businesses. This book is a no-nonsense approach to starting and running a successful business by teaching you how to avoid making simple mistakes that will "nickel and dime" your company to death.

Great post Cory. I agree with you totally. Long gone are the days of 70% open rates (I've only heard of these) but email is still very effective. I like to break it down logically for people..

Get a list of a 1000, you may get 300 opens... Better than that if your providing value.. If you cant get sales from that many opens then your list is cursed...LOL

I'm from the northeast but I just got back from visiting OKC for work for a few days. I must say, it's a different place out there. In a good way. Such a laid back and relaxed type of atmosphere. I was amazed at how friendly the people are and I got the impression that it was a genuine friendlieness, not because they want or expect anything from me. I was surprised that there was so little traffic as well, although the roads could use some work. Bricktown is a nice area, that's where my hotel was, but I was disappointed to see how early things shut down. might have been because it wasn't a weekend though. Overall, I could see why you like living in OKlahoma.
