Customer Service and ‘Going the Extra Mile’ Marketing
One of our themes has been a little tough to explain to certain buyers — our Ecommerce Theme. It’s hard I think simply because it’s an educational process of trying to explain that it’s simply a web template designed to look and feel like an online store and allow users to use WordPress to create and manage their storefronts.
Whoa, that’s a lot of explainer … and I have to admit, for a lot of these emails it’s explaining to our prospective customers what and how ecommerce itself works.
(And yes, I’m working on a better sales site that helps the customer and also so I’m not answering the same questions over and over and over again.)
Twitter Official Blog on Blogger?!
I’ve been using Twitter for over a month now (find me at corymiller303) … and most, if not all, the people I follow on this hot Web 2.0 communications platform use WordPress for their blogs … but Twitter doesn’t!
Their official blog is on Blogger.
Now, this might seem trivial … and I’m sure “new blogging platform” isn’t even on their priority radar, but I’m sure somebody at Automattic or one of their thousands of WP users might offer to help them make the switch.
Heck … we’d do it for them! How about it Twitter?
Start-Up Junkies: A TV Show about Serial Entrepreneurs
I just found a TV show that “follows serial entrepreneurs who thrive on the excitement of working on new ventures” on Hulu called Start-Up Junkies.
There’s 8 episodes online and I’ve already watched 6 so far. This particular season follow Earth Class Mail, a service that allows you to get your postal mail online.
As a recent startup entrepreneur myself, I’ve learned a lot about the fascinating world of venture capital and this neat startup venture through watching Earth Class Mail’s CEO Rob Wiener explain things and the pop-up explainer boxes that appear in the episodes.
I can share in some of the highs and lows of Earth Class Mail’s staff and leadership as I’ve been through many of the same experiences — albeit a bit smaller!
It’s a great introduction and education to the world of startups … go check it out.
3 Reasons Why Content is Priceless
…. or maybe it’s just gold.
But whatever you say about “content” …. text-based, practical, highly-readable, linkbait-able writing … it’s worth more than people suspect.
After more than four months of advertising online and two years of blogging personally, I’ve realized our advertising money would be better spent developing our own content, on our own sites.
Here’s my rational for why I believe content is priceless … or pretty darn valuable anyway:
