In therapy, you are the boss and your therapist is your expert guide

Interviewing your therapist

If you’re interviewing a therapist, ask them what modalities and treatments they employ and use and most importantly why.

Express your key issues and see how’d they approach it.

Find a guide that fits you, or keep looking.

Before session

Review and reflect on the time between therapy visits and what’s happened in your life and look for themes.

Set an intention before the session & in session. Share that intention with your therapist.

During session

Ask your therapist to teach you tools & skills, not just listen.

Talk is fantastic release valve and discovery and navigation tool but there are others tools and skills equip you on your healing journey.

Ask for homework between sessions.

For example, Practices, meditation direction and reading.

Therapists are your guides on your journey.

Ask. You are the boss.
