Acknowledging The Tough, Hard, Difficult Seasons

Too often as leaders we want to focus on the positive, the exciting when sharing big, new vision with our teams.

We want everyone to be excited about our vision.

But one of the most powerful things a leader can do is ACKNOWLEDGE hard times and tough seasons.

Especially for teams who’s been through really tough down cycles …

Simply saying — “Hey, I know it’s been a really tough season for you and for us” resonates deeply as human, it shows that you SEE them by simply acknowledging the tough, difficult parts … and it earns TRUST.

Say the thing that needs to be said.
But you might not want to.
Don’t avoid or ignore that little part of discomfort.

And acknowledge it.

Give it just a little bit of space.

And once that lands authentically … say THANK YOU … for being you … through it … with us.

I see it too. I see you. You matter. Thank you. And we need you.

And THEN …. THEN …. point to the way through — the vision of what’s next — that becomes our BRIDGE to a brighter, better future together.
