Fitting everything into neat little boxes

In my mind, I love to have everything fit into nice neat little buckets and categories.

Everything to sync and snap on a sleek grid. Flow charts that capture everything in the system. Mindmaps with striking clarity. Everything under its category.

When I doodle I even doodle with boxes, with X’s and O’s and triangles and plus and diamonds – all aligned or arranged in a pattern.

I get frustrated when life doesn’t fit into those neat line of boxes.

But it doesn’t …. things spill out of the buckets and onto the ground. Not everything can fit into specific discreet categories.

Part of this is my work embracing the beautiful mess that is life.
