For most of my life I’ve looked at life (and particularly my work) and felt I was on a journey to the summit do a Mountain.
It was fun to conquer my mountains. Or at least the hike up to those summits were most fun.
That was my first half.
In my second half, instead of climbing a mountain, I’m planting a garden.
It’s been a complete mindset shift to think of mg life and work like this.
When I think about the garden I want to tend … it’s:
- Bright and beautiful
- Inspiring
- Immensely fulfilling to do my work and look on it
- Not about my journey but it is my journey
- Something is always blooming
- Some things are withering or just can’t grow
- Something always surprising me
- MESSY. The garden grows where it wants. It can’t be contained just tended and watered.
- All about People people people people
Key parts of my garden
- Myself – starts with me – I’m growing myself too
- Lindsey
- Caloway and Lillian
- My tribe, my chosen family
- Key people I’m investing in
